Beginning of the Story

Hello readers!

I am so excited to announce the launch of this new site! I am going to be moving forward with my fiction writing journey.

I have been writing as a news writer for magazines and newspapers for nine years! But, I’ve always wanted to take the leap into writing fiction, though I lacked faith. Whether it was faith in myself or in the idea of jumping in and just diving headfirst into uncharted waters, I don’t know.

It’s rather tricky to be a devoted writer when you have other responsibilities with your life such as family, or other work. But, if you love it, you have to make it a reality.

I’ve written probably about 6 books that I never finished, simply because I gave up too soon. 2018 is going to be the year that I don’t give into latency.

In 2016, I started writing for an app called Episode Interactive. If you aren’t finding this website from there, I know what you’re thinking.

You’re either thinking :

A) What’s that?

B) It that the awful app that has stories about pregnant teenagers and has really sleazy advertisements?

The answer to your first question is, an interactive story app, where the writer not only composes a story, but has to be proficient in a minor level of coding. The characters come to life and you get to do a “choose your own adventure” style of story. The second answer, is ummm…yes, but it doesn’t mean all the stories are that way. But, even the ones that are can be kind of fun to read sometimes. I mean seriously, aren’t the most popular TV shows on network television filled with scandalous material?

So…. on my Episode journey, I was lucky enough to win a writing contest for my story Agent Graduation. I got such a response it was amazing! That being said, I was new to directing (or minor coding) and it wasn’t the best I know I can be.

Since then, the hype for it has died down quite a bit, but I still have some devoted fans and am gaining more everyday. I still write on Episode and plan on doing it for a long time to come.

Then, just this week, I launched a version of Agent Graduation on WattPad. So, if you aren’t into interactive apps, you can read Agent Grad with a new chapter released each week. It’s done in a traditional short story style.

I hope these things will further my chances of writing on a long term basis, while providing a creative outlet for me. (Other than news writing, because let’s face it, it’s not quite as fun sometimes.)

I hope to see more of you in the future and I hope you’ll read some of my works, if you get a chance.

~ Love, Piper
